The most important freedom in the first amendment is the freedom to petition because it requires the government to listen to what the people have to say. This freedom was created because the colonists of America had little say in Great Britain’s government. Due to the ways Great Britain excluded them from their government, the colonists started the American Revolution. The founders of america made the freedom of petition hoping that there would not be another revolution. They thought it might make governments more effective if they gave their citizens the freedom to petition. The freedom to petition would be helpful to governments like a monarchy, dictatorship, or Oligarchy where there are only certain people in a position of power. There are five other freedoms in the first amendment but these are the reasons the freedom to petition is the most important freedom in the first amendment.
The freedom of speech is the most important freedom in the first amendment. The freedom of speech gives you the power to say what you want. This freedom allows you to say whatever you desire, and you get to put your two cents in about whatever you want. You can´t get told not to talk about something. You won't get in trouble. Freedom of speech is important because you can speak for yourself and you can talk without getting in trouble! People have the right to disagree with the government and others. The freedom of speech lets people say what they want and they can do it without being called out on. People have the right the disagree with the freedom of speech, because in some countries people do not have that right. In the United States, we are allowed to talk for ourselves, which lets us help out our community. That is why the freedom of speech is so important!
The freedom of religion is the most important freedom in the first amendment. In the text Liberty and Freedom the authors state, ”The colonist came to America to worship without fear or death.” People should be able to worship who they want when they want even if it’s bad entities. For example, Wikipedia authors claimed that North Korea doesn’t have the freedom of religion, unlike the USA. If you go to North Korea you can't worship or say you worship who they don't or you will get in trouble. In some countries, the consequences could be worse. Even though all the freedoms in the first amendment are important, the freedom of religions is the most important.
The most important freedom in the first amendment is the freedom of speech. The freedom of speech is the most important freedom because the freedom of speech allows people to say what they want without having to go to jail for saying something the government doesn’t want them to say. People should care because without the freedom of speech they wouldn’t be able to say anything about elections. Another reason why the freedom of speech is the most important amendment is because people in other countries, such as North Korea, do not have the freedom of speech. They have to do what they’re told to or else they would have bad consequences. If we didn’t have the freedom of speech we wouldn’t be able to say what we want, and people might wish they could live somewhere else. This is only one of the five freedoms in the first amendment, but it is the most important.

A classroom full of loud , jumping and happy kids
Wanting to learn every minute of the day
Walking into the classroom saying hooray
Full of excitement for a new day
What do we say we all say hey
What's you doin today

For the 2nd week of school and literacy, we read and wrote about several fascinating subjects. We did many things involving reading in our 'Integrated Literacy' this week, such as reading group books, website articles, and our own silent reading book. We also started writing our own paragraphs using LEAF organizers, which are helpful papers for learning how to write paragraphs. We wrote these, basing them on Newsela articles that we chose ourselves.
We all have read and wrote so many things and most of us feel as if we are improving from last year. Most of our techniques have proven to be very useful. Many things are working out for us, such as our reading groups. We can read in different places, by ourselves and with Ms.Chelsea, depending on the sort of support we need. But even if some of us aren't pros, we all have our strengths, and sometimes literacy isn't one. But we all keep improving and most of us, having lots of fun!
Integrated Literacy this week turned out to be very successful and, as its title says, integrated.

When all the students come together on the first day of school, good moods fill the air. There are new students and teachers greeting us at the door. Kids are smiling and giving hugs, the great mood was contagious. The first day of school was magical, perfect, and amazing. The teachers all looked very happy and exited for a new year! So did all of the students. I think we can safely say we all like school!
